WHAT NOW?

January 20, 2011

Along with NAKED, I consider this one to be a self-portrait. Even though not pictures of me literally, they do the job fairly well.

NAKED

January 18, 2011

Now, opposed to the previous, a not so subtle hint of a distinct personality:-)

SINGULAR

January 16, 2011

Or how about this one, while we are talking about various attitudes of houses? A subtle hint of a distinct personality?

SMILE

January 15, 2011

Does each house has an attitude of its own? Like the one in the previous post, trying to bear the old age with dignity. I remember observing this one across the street in Rovinj, watching the wind play with laundry. Every once in a while it seemed to pause slightly through swinging, perfectly timed to form the wide-spread smile on a colorful face.

STILL STANDING

January 14, 2011

Many times I passed that old house on my way downtown. Built probably between the two of the World Wars, barely standing, with walls sagged under decades. And with blackened dried-wood doors firmly shut, I naturally presumed it was abandoned a long time ago. Until one day I noticed a small vase with fresh flowers in the corner of a window. Someone actually lives there? And made the effort to make it prettier?

OVER THERE

January 13, 2011

By the method of simple association I present the next one. The “running kids” sign, opposed to the deserted ambiance, left me with a “Where’s everybody?” feeling. On an early summer afternoon in Rovinj,  still very hot, there was not many wanderers like myself. I was initially drawn by the abundance of natural worn-out textures and lines encompassing the geometric shapes of street signs.

THE GRASSHOPPER

January 12, 2011

What do you get when you try to photograph a youngster with a slow-reacting compact camera? A missed opportunity? Or a glimpse at the essence of a playful child that never stands still?
